WHEREAS, the elected officials of Ramsey County, the City of Saint
Paul, the Saint Paul ublic Schools and the State of Minnesota
have a joint interest in the children in this community; and
WHEREAS, each governmental ent' ty wishes to continue to be educated
about children' s issu s; and
WHEREAS, each governmental ent ty seeks increased opportunities to
communicate about chi dren' s issues with the other; and
WHEREAS, the City' s Child Care Ordinance calls for the creation of an
intergovernmental gro p to facilitate information sharing and
policy consideration;
Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City of Sain Paul shall designate tliree
representatives each rom the City Council to participate on
the Children' s Issues Council (CIC) . The CIC will meet
quarterly or on an as needed basis for the purpose of:
-- educating electe officials on children' s issues,
-- discussing polic ideas to address the issues identified,
and
-- providing for im roved coordination of new and existing
children' s servi es provided by the jurisdictions.
