1 WHEREAS, the Mississippi River Corridor is recognized as a
2 resource of local, regional and national significance, and
3 WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has designated the east
4 bank of the river corridor between Hidden Falls/Crosby Farm
5 Regional Park and Battle Creek Regional Park as a regional trail
6 corridor, known as the East Bank Mississippi River Regional Trail
7 Corridor, and
8 WHEREAS, the Division of Parks and Recreation has prepared a
9 Master Plan for the Trail Corridor in accordance with
10 Metropolitan Council Regional Trail Corridor planning
11 requirements, and
12 WHEREAS, the trail corridor master plan has been reviewed
13 and recommended for approval by both the Saint Paul Parks and
14 Recreation Commission and the Saint Paul Planning Commission,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City
of Saint Paul does hereby approve and adopt the Master Plan for
the East Bank Mississippi River Regional Trail Corridor, and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Division o£ Parks and Recreation
is hereby authorized to submit said Master Plan to the
Metropolitan Council for review and approval, and
21 FINALLY RESOLVED, that the appropriate City officials are
22 hereby authorized to apply for and execute such grants, permits
23 and agreements as may be necessary to implement the plan, and
24 upon receipt of grants the City Council shall receive the
25 appropriate Capital Improvement Budget resolutions for approval.
