The St. Paul HPC has been designated by the MN Historical Society and the U.S. Secretary of the Interior as a"Certified Local Government" (CLG). Certification qualifies the HPC to receive federal funding for preservation projects. In the past year, federal funding has enabled the HPC to produce four brochures on preservation topics. Thousands of tnese brochures have been printed for distribution to St. Paul citizens. To qualify for CLG status, the HPC must meet certain standards. These standards include the establishment of "an adequate and qualified historic preservation commission". Specifically, the standards state, "HPC membership shall be drawn from persons with demonstrated interest and/or expertise in historic preservation". Furthermore, specific disciplines and professional qualifications must be represented on the commission. These Federal requirements emphasize what must loqically be the case. If, as city ordinance requires, the HPC is to provide expert advice to the city, it's members must be experts in the area of historic preservation. The St. Paul HPC has been designated by the MN Historical Society and the U.S. Secretary of the Interior as a"Certified Local Government" (CLG). Certification qualifies the HPC to receive federal funding for preservation projects. In the past year, federal funding has enabled the HPC to produce four brochures on preservation topics. Thousands of tnese brochures have been printed for distribution to St. Paul citizens. To qualify for CLG status, the HPC must meet certain standards. These standards include the establishment of "an adequate and qualified historic preservation commission". Specifically, the standards state, "HPC membership shall be drawn from persons with demonstrated interest and/or expertise in historic preservation". Furthermore, specific disciplines and professional qualifications must be represented on the commission. These Federal requirements emphasize what must loqically be the case. If, as city ordinance requires, the HPC is to provide expert advice to the city, it's members must be experts in the area of historic preservation. The St. Paul HPC has been designated by the MN Historical Society and the U.S. Secretary of the Interior as a"Certified Local Government" (CLG). Certification qualifies the HPC to receive federal funding for preservation projects. In the past year, federal funding has enabled the HPC to produce four brochures on preservation topics. Thousands of tnese brochures have been printed for distribution to St. Paul citizens. To qualify for CLG status, the HPC must meet certain standards. These standards include the establishment of "an adequate and qualified historic preservation commission". Specifically, the standards state, "HPC membership shall be drawn from persons with demonstrated interest and/or expertise in historic preservation". Furthermore, specific disciplines and professional qualifications must be represented on the commission. These Federal requirements emphasize what must loqically be the case. If, as city ordinance requires, the HPC is to provide expert advice to the city, it's members must be experts in the area of historic preservation.
