The Youth Programs Advisory Boar met last week to develop
the list of organizations eligib e to receive Charitable
Gambling Funds. Attached is a r solution requesting approval
of the organizations the Advisor Board recommended.
In order to differentiate betwee the previous list and the
new list being developed, we hav designated the new list as
the 10% Club. This list will be updated quarterly and sent
to the License Division for revi w.
The Youth Program Advisory Board also requested guidance from
the City Council about additiona organizations who applied
for inclusion in the 10% Club. heir concerns include:
- are national organizations wh se funds are provided by
other sources, but who serve outh, eligible (such as Boy
Scouts, Girl Scouts and Salva ion Army) , and
- are organizations that are or anized for other purposes,
but may serve youth, eligible (such as District Planning
Councils) .
This may be an appropriate agend item for the Community and
Human Services Committee chaired by Councilmember Janice
Rettman. I have assigned Pat Mo nagh, Director of Volunteer
Services, to work with the Youth Programs Advisory Board.
She may be reached at 292-7430.
Thank you for your prompt attent on.
