Human Rights ommission. XX.01. Established. The e is hereby established a human rights com mission consisting of eleven (11) members appointed by the m yor with the consent of the council . XX.012. XX.03. Tenure. Members hall serve three (3) year terms. The terms of ea h member serving on the commission, as it was previ usly established by 5ection 183.19 of the legislative code , at the time this ordinance takes effect sh 11 continue to serve until the expiration of that te m and until a successor is appointed and qualifies. Including time served on the commission , as it was previously established by ection 183.19 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, no erson shall be a member of the commission for more than nine ( 9 ) years cumulatively or otherwise. XX.04. Commission Chair. The chair of the commission shall be designated by th mayor with the consent of the council and shall ser e for a term ending on the first business day in Jan ary of each even�numbered year and until a successor is appointed and qualifies. In the event the acting c air has less than two (2) years remaining on the une pired term as commissioner and the current term is th third term, the chair will be ineligible for reap ointment as chair . The commissioner serving as ch ir of the commission, as it was previously establish d by Section 183.19 of the legislative code, at the time this ordinance takes effect shall continue as ch ir until the first business day in January of each eve =numbered year and until a successor is appointed and ualifies. XX.�S. Meetings. The co mission shall meet upon a regular schedule adopted y it or at the call of the chair. All meetings and eeting notices shall be in conformity with state law. XX.P16. Duties. The comm ' ssion shall have power to receive, hear and determin complaints as provided in Chapter 183 of the legisla ive code, to govern its own affairs, and to adopt rea onable rules of practice and procedure, and to advise he director on policies of the department. The com ission shall have power to conduct such studies, hear 'ngs, and investigations, and to make such recommendati ns as in its judgment will effectuate the policy set forth in Section 183.�J1 of the legislative code. Eac member of the commission, including the chair, sha 1 be paid for attending scheduled meetings of the c mmission the sum of $25.0�1 per meeting, the aggrega�e f such payments to any one member for any one year ot to exceed the sum of $6g0.�l0. XX.08. Removal. Members of the commission may be removed without cause a� a y time by the affirmative vote of at least five mem ers of the council. Any member who misses three c nsecutive meetings without the consent of the commissi n shall automatically cease to be a member of the commi sion. The secretary of the commission shall notify �he mayor of a vacancy created in this manner. Section 2. This ordinance shall be' d em ed a part of the Saint Paul Administrative Code and shall ' b incorporated therein and given an appropriate chapter and/or 'se tion number at the time of the next revision of said Administra ive Code. Section 3. This ordinance shall take e fect and be in force thirty (30) days from and after its passage, approval and publication.
