Minimum qualifications for he position of director of
the department of human righ s shall be as follows:
(a) Educational : A bachelo of arts degree;
(b) Experience : Two ' y ars of progressively
responsible administr tive experience and five
years of professional upervisory experience in
any three of the fo11 wing human rights areas:
(1) complaints and in estigations dealing with
allegations of disc�i ination; (2) affirmative
action requirements i employment; (3) contract
com pliance; (4) cond cting studies regarding
discrimination in �mp oyment, education, real
property, public acomm dations, public services,
and related areas; (5) reparing legislation and
policies dealing with human rights issues for
action by governmental nd private units.
The director shall be in �he unclassified service. The
director may be removed a�t ny time without cause by
the mayor with the concurr nce of two?�thirds of the
then members of the commis ion and may be removed at
any time for cause by the ma or with the concurrence of
a majority of the entire cit council .
Sectio 2.
This ordinance shall take ef ect and be in force thirty (30)
days from and after its passage, pproval and publication.
