WHEREAS , West Publi hi g Company has , for several years ,
through Lease Agreement W/ 7, leased from the City 127, 429
square feet of vacant la d t Shepard Road and Eagle Street as a
parking area for employe s; and
WHEREAS , with the r mo al of buildings , an adjacent parcel
of 13 ,800 square feet of Ci y-owned property became available for
parking, and West Publis in Company expressed an interest in
this parcel; and
WHEREAS , Lease Agre me t PW/27 ezpired on May 31 , 1989, and
all parties have agreed o he eztension of the Lease ;
BE IT THEREFORE RES LV D, that Lease Agreement PW/27 be
amended to include an ad it ' onal 13 ,800 square feet of vacant
land for the purpose of mp oyee parking.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL ED, that said Lease Agreement PW/27 be
extended for one year fr m une 1, 1g89 through NIay 31 , 1990.

This addendum , made and en er d into this day of
, 1989 , by n between the City of Saint Paul ,
hereinatter caLled the ' ITY , " and West Publishing Company ,
hereinafter called the "LESSE .
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS , Lease Agreement PW/27 was entered into by and between the
CITY and the LESSEE on March 8 1986 to provide parking space for the
LESSEE ; and
WHEBEAS , Addendum �1 to sai ease Agreement PW/27 provided 13 ,800
square Feet of additional space to the LESSEE; and
WHEREAS, said Lease Agreement P /27 expired on �iay 31 , 1989 ; and �
I�iHBBEAS , the CITY and the L S EE have agreed to extend said Lease
Agreement YW/27 through May 31 , 1990;
NOfi THSBSFOQE, it is hereby a reed between the parties hereto that
said Lease Agreement PW/27 aad ddendum $1 thereto shall be amended as
follows :
1 . Paragraph 2 . shall be a en ed as follows :
Term of Lease This lease shall be in effect for a term
commencing and eading o the dates indicated below , unless
terminated earlier by t e ESSOR as provided herein .

3. 'the following paragraph s all be appended to and shall become
part of said Lease Agree e t PW/ 27 :
(2t3) Second Year 0 tion. The LESSOR shall determine and notify
the LESSEr. by Karch 30 , 9 0 if the Leased Premises are available
for the period of one ( 1 ) ear from June 1 , 1990 through May 31 ,
1991 . If available for 1 ase , the LESSEE shall have the first
option to extend this 1 as for a second year from June 1 , 1990
through May 31 , 1991 . E SEE must , by April 3U, 1990, indicate
to the LESSOR in writing o its intention to exercise its option.
All the terms and cond ti ns of the Lease for the second year
shall be the same as i his Lease Agreement , except that the
basic rent rates as in i ated in Paragraph (4 ) of this Lease
Agr�ement shall be incr ased by the same percentage increase as
the Twin City Consumer ri e Index for the twelve month' s period
prior to April 1 , 1990.
( 29 ) Additional Resp n ibilit� LESSEE shall , at its own
expense, construct a c cl ne fence around the perimeter of the
Leased Premises .
