Also, construct a sewer in the E-W alley for st rm water purposes. Also, condemning and taking an easement in the land necessa f r the slopes, cuts and fills, including right of removal of lateral support from subject I nd r remainder thereof, occasioned by excavations thereof or construction of sl p in the grading and paving of said alley. INITIATING ACTION: This improvement was initiated by a pe itio signed by 11 of the 18 abutting property owners, representing 61% of the abutti g operty owners. EXISTING CONDITIONS: This is an "L" shaped alley platted to a id h of 20 feet. The N-S alley is paved and in good condition. The E-W alley is ungr de but was placed on the oiling list in 1955. The grade near the middle of the alle is bout 1 foot lower than the street and the N-S alley. I T RY: The orders to improve these alleys w e efore the City Council several times before but were rescinded due to opposition o t e cost. PROPOSEDIMPROVEMENT: Construct a sewer in the E-W alley a d c nnect it to the storm sewer in Saratoga Street. Grade the E-W alley to a wid o 16' and place a hot mix bituminous pavement. Since the N-S alley is paved and in f ir ndition, we are not proposing to epave it. Lots 4-8 do not abut the proposed p in and they do not drain towards the proposed catch basin and will therefore not be ss ssed.
