material , alternating freeze/thaw cycles, er ice ltf� limits, c emical additives, extreme
temperature variations, etc. These probl o eur on a citywide level and must be addressed
and corrected on an annua�basis, Left un rr cted, the sidewalk co�dition would worsen to
a state where it would be rendered unusabl a d subJec� to incre sed pedestrian inJuries from
falls and possible litigations�
ADVANTAQES IF APPROVED:
The community will benefit fran this proJ t ecause it will pro ide safe defect free side-
walks for its many citizens. The sFdewatk o tracts are executed by private contractors, so
it follows that private sector Jobs are c at as a result of t f� actfvity.
DISADVANTA(iES IF APPROVED:
Nistorically, the sidewalk reconstruetion h e created negative feedback in the area of
construction procedure and assessment� Si 1 stated, property o ers detest assessments,
and despite the fact up to one-half the a es ment ls City subsi ized , it still remains
controversial ,

This option would allow the infrastructur of sidewalk� stock to eteriorate , which in tur�,
