11. PROVISIONAL EMPLOYMENT �
Upon receipt of a requisi io to fill a positio for which there is no
eligible list, the Person el Director may grant uthority to the
officer making the requis ti n to make a provis nal appointment. A
provisional appointment s al remain in force n longer than ten days
after the appointment and em loyment of an elig le from an appropriate
eligible list. Within si ty days after the gra ting of a provisional
appointment permit, the P rs nnel Director shal , if practicable,
schedule an examination f r uch position.
No person may be appoint t a provisional pos tion who has been
working as a temporary w th t the submission o a written request by
the appointing officer t t e Personnel Directo and his/her approval
of the appointment.
Whenever discretionary c an es are made in acc dance with this section
by the Personnel Directo , he effective date the action shall be
preceded by a twenty day pu lic notice period. This period shall be
initiated by notice to t e ec.ognized bargaini unit for the title
affected and the affecte d partments.
