Left un orrected, the sfdewaik condition would worsen to a state where it would be rendered unus bl and subJect to increased pedestrian inJuries from falls and possible litigations. ADVANTAQES IF APPROVED: The ccxnmunity will benefit from this pr ec because it will provide safe defect free side- walks for its many citizens. The sidewal c ntracts are executed by private contractors, so it follows that private sector jobs are r ted as a result of this activity. asuvurnaes iF nPVROVeo: Historically, the sidewalk reconstructio s ave created negative feedback in the area of constuction procedure and assessment. S mp y stated, property owners detest assessments, and despite the fact up to one-half the ss ssmenfi is City subsidized, it still remains controversial . DISADVANTAOES IF 1T APPROVED: This option wouid allow the infrastructu e f sidewalk stock to deteriorate, which in turn, will generate more personal injury suits ultimately resulting in he expenditure of larger dollar amounts in eventuat repairs and/o r placement as well as liln`petiici1 Center f1Y 0=:. i;89 TOTAL AMOUNT OF TRANSACTION a 538' COST NUE BUDiiE'i dRCLE ONE) YES NO FuNONa sou 89-M-0658 A, P f A 89 a 384 O ACTIVITY NUMBER A2201 - 02150 FlNANqAI INFORMATION:(EXPWN) • ffi ► C, CIB 89 = 50, 0 _ ._ ; . y . r .
