WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Citizens S li Waste Task Force was formed to make
recommendations to the Mayor and C ty Council on appropriate policies,
plans and activities for solid was e anagement; activities needed within
Saint Paul to meet Ramsey County's so id waste abatement goals; and whether
Saint Paul should develop organize c llection of mixed solid waste; and
WHEREAS, the task force's final re or recommends that Saint Paul should
develop a comprehensive solid wast m nagement system; and
WHEREAS, development of a comprehe si e solid waste management system
requires participation and involve en of all city departments,
neighborhood organizations, privat r bbish haulers and recyclers, Ramsey
County, state agencies and the Le 'sl ture, and other parties; as well as
all residents and businesses;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, th t e Saint Paul City Council hereby
accepts the task force report and en rses the general concept of
developing a comprehensive solid as management system; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the it Council expresses its appreciation to
the task force for its hard work, co ends the task force for the quality
of its final report, and directs he City Clerk to send a copy of this
resolution to each task force mem er
