To provide the City and County wi h the skills, motivation, creativity, and enthusiasm of college stud nt . 2. To provide the college student wi h a valuable work experience in local government and at the same tim e pose rier/him to some of the realistic, pragmatic problems in City and Co nty governmPnt. 3. To create a liaison between lo al government and the academic community, thereby enabling both to utili e ore fully the resources of the other. NOW, THEREFORE, by mutual agreement of he parties hereto, the following agreement is entered into and made effe ti e as follows: 1. An Urban Corps Intern Work Pro r shall be carried on under the supervision of an Urban Corps oo dinator, whose duties shall be as follows: a. Introduce and describe the op rational procedures of the Intern Program to the various Cit a d County departments. b. To develop within the City an County departments meaningful internships. c. To be responsible for the ra ning and orientation of the intern's direct supervisor. d. To recruit and place worth hi e interns from the various colleges under the Urban Corps. , 2. The Urban Corps Coordinator sh 11 work under the.supervision of the Personnel Office of Saint Paul 3. Office space for the Saint Pau -R sey County Coordinator will be provided by the City. . ��y�-� s� 4. The total administrative cost f he tasks and purposes set forth are estimated to be $103,612.00 (o e undred. three thousand, six hundred and twelve dollars) . Of this amo t, the County shall pay $5,180.00 (five thousand, one hundred eighty 11 rs) ,, and the City shall pay $98,432.00 (ninety-eight thousand, four n ed thirty two dollars) . The County will pay said amou t the City beginning January 1, 1989, based on quarterly billings is ue by the City. At the end of each contract year, the City shall re are a financial report indicating the total administrative costs of he services provided under this agreement. Should the total c st to the City be less than that stated above, the City shall return t t e County 5$ of the unspent sum at the expiration of the agreement. ho ld the total costs to the City be more than that stated above, the Co nt shall pay the City 5$ of the sum in excess of the total stated abo e. 5. This Agreement shall terminate De ember 31, 1989. However, either party may terminate the Agreement pr or to that time upon ninety days written notice. Should such right of e ination be exercised, then only the pro-rata portion of such inst 1 nt coming due herein shall be paid or shall the terminating party be li ble for.
