WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department desires to compile a historical publication of the
department for the years 1854 through 1999; and
WfIEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department would like to so6cit donations from local companies,
organizations, busiaesses, and private donors for the cost of tlus publication; and
WFIEREAS, there will be a"patron's acknowledgment page" in the publication that will list and
recognize all donors; and
WHEREAS, to ensure that no city funds will be used, all funds contributed for the yearbook will go
directly to the publisher or to pay costs to create a time capsule; and
RESOLVEA, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the solicitation of donations from local
companies, organizations, businesses, and private donors, to help defray the cost of a Saint Paul Police
Department historical publication for the years 1854 through 1999; and be it
F[TRTHER RESOLVED, that such donations shall be deemed to be donations to the City within the
meaning of section 41.03 of the Administrative Code, and in compliauce with all the requirements of
Chapter 41 of the Administrative Code; and
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the donations and their usage are declared to be for a public purpose.
