RESOLVED, That pursuant to Minnesota St tu es 471 .59 commonly referred to as
the "Joint Powers Act", the proper City of icials are hereby authorized and
directed to execute the joint purchasin a reement with the City of Farmington,
said agreement providing for the joint ur hase of equipment, material , and
supplies as needed, copies of said agre me t to be kept on file and or

THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into t is day of , 1989, by
and between the City of St. Paul, Rams y ounty, Minnesota, and the City
of Farmington, Dakota County, Minnesot .
WHEREAS, the City of St. Paul and the it of Farmington, pursuant to the
provisions of Minnesota Statutes 471.5 , re authorized to enter into
agreement to exercise jointly the gove mm �tal powers and functions each
has individually; and
WRFgF.AS, the City of St. Paul and the! Ci y of Farmington desire to combine _
their purchasing functions for the pur ha e of equipment, materials and
siipplies in order to secure more favor bl prices.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY AGREID by nd between the parties hereto as
follows, to wit:
l. That the City of St. Paul shall, p rs ant to the procedures set forth
in the St. Paul City Charter and a' pl'cable State Statutes make joint
purchases for both the City of Fa i ton and the City of St. Paul of
whatever same or similar equipment, terials and supplies are authorized
and requested by both the City of t. Paul and the City of Farmington.
2. Each party shall make payment dire' tl to the vendor according to
established procedures.
3. Neither party shall assume any res o sibility for the accountability of
funds expended by the other or the i suance of a purchase order by the
other party.
4. Each party shall be separately ac u able for its own expenditures
of public funds made hereunder.
5. After bids have been received by e urchasing department of the City
of St. Paul and awarded, each par all enter into its own contract
or agreement with the vendor.
