It is my recommendation that we reque t t e Minnesota Department of Transportation to remove the street lighting portion o th project except for placing the conduit behind the curb for later installation of wirirg. There are a number of reasons to ug est this. Primarily, as was discussed at the Public Works Committee, there is npt et a street lighting policy. Another reason is this lighting project has never gonethr ugh the CIB Process and seeing that the lighting work will not be done until 1199 , there is time now to proceed through the CIB process which is now beginning. If;we leave the lighting in the plans and because of policy change, decide to delete the Ilig s after MnDOT awards the contract, about the first of May, then the City could becbm liable for some of the contractors costs toward obtaining a subcontractor and possbly ordering materials. The City is paying 100 percent of the lighting cost anyway,l,th refore, as long as the conduit is being coordinated with the MnDOT projeat w can keep control of the remainder of the work. - The Council and Public Works Coriimit ee requested that I outline the City funding for this project. I have included light cst for green lanterns. . . ' -2- -33/ PROJECT i F ND ITEM ; i F I w r B n M A Total Lights 81,973.00i 81 ,973.00 Sewer 6,930.00 96,930.00 Bridge 1,611 ,768.00 656,257.00 2,268,025.00 Road 102,246.00 41,632.00 143,878.00 TOTAI 1,714,014.00 81,973.00 96,930.00 697,889.00 2,590,806.00 Total City Share = 2,590,806 00 Total FAU Participation= 1 714 14 Total City Funding= 876,792 00 The $96,930 for sewers is budgetedl a d $600,000 of MSA is budgeted.
