The Saint Paul Police Deparhnent is responsible for training volunteers (NAO's and Reserves) in basic Defensive
Driving Techniques, as they operate police department vehicles. Individual defensive Driving Classes are cost
prohibitive. Renting a Defensive Driving Course facility and providing Saint Paul Police Deparhnent inshuctors
is the most cost effective and also teaches volunteers Saint Paul Police Deparnnent vehicle operating procedures.
ADVANTAGESIFAPPROVED
We will be able to continue to provide Defensive Driving Techniques to our volunteers, hopefully reducing the
probability of them getting into an accident. Dakota County Technical College has reduced their fee for this rental
as we aze training volunteers for community service work.
DISADVANTAGESIFAPPROVED
