WHEREAS, all of the children of Saint Paul, from infants to high school age
children and kids of every race, creed and color deserve the recognition and
support of our comm ity; and
WHEREAS, the ad lts of Saint Paul should recognize and complement children
who are achieving su cess and frequently offer words of encouragement and kindness
to help children bec me more confident and �uccessful; and
WHEREAS, the ad lts in Saint Paul should recognize their duty to protect
children by reportin any suspicion of child abuse or neglect, the selling of
alcoholic beverages o minors, or the dealing of drugs by or for children; and
WHEREAS, the pe ple of Saint Paul should help raise the self-esteem of
children, especially children who have experienced hardship or hurt in their lives,
by making an effort o su.g�port and communicate with children; and
WHEREAS, the Sa'nt ��aul City Council can help children of Saint Paul by desig-
nating a month for a united effort of the people of our community to show their
love and appreciatio for the children of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the Un�ted States Congress has designated February 1989 as "America
Loves Its Kids Month " and Saint Paul wishes to join in this commitment to our
children; now, there�Eore, be it
RESOLVED, that �he Saint Paul City Council designates February 1989 as
"SAINT PAUL LOVES ITS KIDS MONTH"
