Under current law, i;he Cii,,y of Saint Paul receives a subsidST of $804 , 000 annuallti f om the Plinnesota Depart;ment of Health. These funds assist tt►e Division of Public tiealth in providing sercices such as imnuni.zati.ons , child 1ic.alth, health education, nutrition ducation and tuberculosis control . The current Communit5� ealth Services subsid,y is based on a per capita allocai;ion. STATUS As part of its 1989 legislative package , the Minnesota Department of Health will propose increased funding for Community ealth Services agencies. This increased funding is at a rate f 70 cents per capita. This proposal, if enacted, would resu t in a funding increase for the City of Saint Paul of an addi ional $175 , 000 each ,year. � The Govern r has recommended this funding level in his proposed b dget. Additional state funds have been requested for a new ealth Care Access program to provide health care to uninsured innesotans. The Legislature may confuse the funding re uest for CHS with the Health Care Access services. These are wo separate services.
