RESOLVED, That purs ant to Minnesota Statutes 471 .59 commonly referred to as
the "Joint Powers A t", the proper City officials are hereby authorized and
directed to execute the joint purchasing agreement with the City of Forest
Lake, said agreemen� providing for the joint purchase of equipment, material ,
and supplies as nee�led, copies of said agreement to be kept on fite and or
record in the Depar ment of Finance and Management Services.

JOINT PURCHASING AGREII�ENT
THIS AGREEI�sN'� made and entered into this day of
by and between the City of Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, and
the City of Forest ILake, Washington County, Minnesota.
WHEREAS, the Clity of Saint Paul and the City of Forest Lake
pursuant to the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 471.59, are authorized
to enter into agree�nent to exercise jointly the governmental powers and
functions each has individually; and
WAEREAS, the C'ity of Saint Paul and the City of Forest Lake desire
to combine their pu'�chasing functions for the purchase of equipment,
materials and supplies in order to secure more favorable prices. '
NOIJ, THEREFQR�, IT IS HEREBY AGREID b� and between the parties
hereto as follows, �to-wit:
1. That the C�ity of Saint Paul shall pursuant to the procedures set
forth in the Saint �aul City Charter and applicable state statutes make
joint purchases for�both the City of Forest Lake and the City of Saint
Paul oi whatever sa e or similar equipment, materials and supplies are
authorized and requ�sted by both the City of Saint Paul and the City of
Forest Lake.
2. Each partyl' shall make payment directly to the vendor according
to established proc�dures.
3. Neither pa�ty shall assume any responsibility for the accounta-
bility of funds exp nded by the other or the issuance of a purchase order
by the other party.
4. Each partyishall be separately accountable for its own expenditures
of public funds made hereunder.
5. After bids' have been received by the purchasing department of the
City of Saint Paul �nd awarded, each party shall enter into its cwn contract
or agreement with t1�e vendor.
