WHEREAS , the Council of the City of Saint Paul has determined
to repeal C apter 50 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code entitled
"Registratio of Rental Housing" in the form in which it existed
as of Januar 1 , 1989 ; and
WHEREASI, certain fees were collected pursuant to said
Chapter tha the Council now desires to return to the various
rental prop rty owners who remitted said fees ; now, therefore ,
be it
RE50LVE , that upo�z the effective date of the repeal of
Chapter 50 he proper City officials are authorized and directed
to return su h fees as v�Tere collected; and, be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that Council Resolution 88-1004 estab-
lishing a ee schedule under Chapter 50 is hereby rescinded.

Dear Council Me�nber Rettman:
As Chair of th Community and Human Services Committee , enclosed
herewith pleas find an ordinance repealing Chapter 50 of the
Saint Paul Le islative Code dealing with the registration of
rental housing nd a companion resolution.
At the Januar 4th meeting of the Committee , I was given to
understand tha you wished this office to draft a repealer
of the above referenced chapter and the enclosed ordinance
will accomplis that. Additionally, in order to address the
issues of fee� already collected pursuant to Chapter 50 and
to rescind the original council resolution establishing a fee
schedule, the enclosed resolution, when passed, will solve
those matters.
Our office wi 1 be pleased to work with you and members of
the Committee hould you wish Chapter 50 to be later redrafted
and re-enacted n some new form.
