This resoution will establish the rate of pay for the Customer Service Snior Representative classification. This action is the result ofja classification and compensation study, which was performed at the request of Tom Mogren, General Manager of the Water Utility. IMr. Mogren asked the Personnel Office to review a proposed job restrcturing in the Water Revenue Division and determine if the changes would be appropriate. If appropriate, then the Personnel Office wa to classify the positions and determine the appropriate pay, base on the new assigrunents. Our office found that the restructu ing was appropriate and should provide the public with a higher qua ity of service. The complexity of the new assignment, the amount of nowledge required and udgement exercised all warranted a classifica ion above that of Clerk-Typist III. The QES evaluation placed thi position at Grade 29 of the Clerical Standard Ranges. The Water Jtility and the Personnel Office feel that the Revenue Division a$d the public would be best served by the new title. Mr. Mogre will explain direct effects on the operation and budget ry implications. COST/BENEFtT. BUDGETARY. AND PERSONNEL IMPACTS ANTICIPATED: This actio affects 3 positions. There willllbe no additional cost in 1988. The averag additional cost per position will be: Biweeklv Annual Grade 29 I $1,096 $28,496 Grade 24 I 948 24.648 Additional cost per position;l $ 148 $ 3 848 This action will provide a logical career ladder for the clerical employees wishing careers in customer service and direct public contact. , i 1 • r _N 014 Personne & Labpr Re ations Dp . - - - - - CONTACT NA1IE : PHONE 7 98$ DATE A S F (See reverse side.) Department Direc or 4 lisyor (or Assistant) ZjD Finance snd Mana ement Services Director Citq Clerk Budget Director _ City Attorney _ (Clip all locations for signature.)
