WHEREAS, in August, Mayor Scheibel created an Upper Landing task force
to review the best possible land use options for the Upper Landing; and
WHEREA�, this task force was made up of citizens who represent a broad
spectrum of cc�r�munity interests, including those of the Downtown residential
and business, Irvine Park neighbors, West Seventh Street businesses, organized
labor, Downtoiwn building owners, NSP, as well as representatives of District 9
and District 1� Community Councils; a�id � _ '
WHEREA�S, on November 27, 1990, the Upper Landing Task Force
recomm�nded� by an eleven to one vote, that the City should choose a grade
separated intet�change at Eagle Street as part of the preferred alinement of
Shepard Road!; and
THEREFQRE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council directs
the appropriat�e staff in the Department of Public Works and in the Department
of Planning and Economic Development to provide the necessary,documentation
and plans for this' alternative; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a Public Hearing be scheduled at City
Council on January 8, 1991 for adoption of the preferred alignment of Shepard
Road.
