Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist
Initiating robl�m. Issue. Opportunity:
This action is the result of a compensation study requested by the
Department of H an Rights. The Classification and Compensation
Division of' the ffice of Personnel and Labor Relations conducted a
study and r�comm nds changing the rate of pay for the Equal Employment
Opportunity Spec�alist classification. This is a single position
classification a d the position in question has been assigned additional
duties including developing departmental policy and procedures,
preparing public information materials and reports, speaking to public
and private grou' s regarding human rights, representing the department
at various Commi tee and organization meetings, assisting local
organizatio�s in developing human rights educational programs, assisting
in conducting st dies regarding discrimination and assisting in
developing and c�nducting training programs for department staff.
Disadvantag�s iflapproved:
A change in sala�ty from Professional Grade 10 to Professional Grade 14
would resul� in �n additional cost of $189.99 per pay period. If this
action were to b�come effective November 17, 1990, then the cost for
1990 would be $569.97. The cost for 1991 would be $4,939.74.
