1 WHEREAS, Chet Emerson has been the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Saint Paul since 1990;
2 and,
3 WHEREAS, under Chet Emerson's leadership, the Boys & Girls Club membership has grown more than 350%; and,
4 WHEREAS, Chet Emerson and his staff have developed an outstanding five-step gang intervention program model
5 bringing the Boys & Girls Club national attenlion; and,
WHEREAS, under Chet Emerson, the Boys & Girls Club of Saint Paul received the first nationai level program
award for the Sackett Memorial Park at the Boys & Girls Club National Keystone Conference, which recognizes
teen leadership; now,
9 THEREFORE BE TT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paui Ciry Council formally extends its sincere thanks to Chet
10 Emerson for his dedication to the youth of our city; and,
11 FCJRTHER BE IT RESOLVED, that Wednesday, October 21, 1998 shall be known in the City of Saint Paul as:
