No one appeazed in oppositian. Gerry Strathman stated this hearing is to heaz objections to the issuance of a license to Blessed Sacrament Church. Christine Rozek repozted this applicataon is for a State Class A Gambling Premise Pernut which allows the church to conduct all forms or gambling: raffle, paddlewheel, tipboards, bingo, and pulltabs. The church intends to use this license for special events throughout the year. All applications requirement haue been met. The State applications fee have been paid. There are no pending adverse actions against the church. LIEP recommends approval of this license. Gerry Strathman stated the objection he received about this 13cense applicafion was from a Va Thao, 1820 Mechanic Avenue, who writes she does not feel a church needs a gambling hall to be able to survive and that there is enough gambling in the City. Ms. Thao is not present. Jean Bowiin stated there will be a masimum of five gambling events at the church. She explained to the community council pxesident what would be taking place there. Gerry Strathman asked has anyone else objected to the license. Christine Rozek responded she received one phone ca11 from a resident who was concemed about gambling in that location lowering property values. Gerry Strathman recommended the license be approved. This application is in full compliance with a11 exisfing State and City laws. There is no reason to recommend anything other than approvai.
