WHEREAS, The ity of Saint Paul and Ramsey County have mut ally agreed to undertake
the renovation of the Ci Hall and Courthouse Building at 15 West Kel ogg Boulevard in Saint
Paul; and _
WHEREAS, Rams y County is funding the renovation of the City all and Courthouse
through issuance of gene al obligation bonds; and
WHEREAS, The C ty Council has established a policy whereby a ortion of purchases of
eligible goods and service would be made from economically disadvanta ed small businesses; and
WHEREAS, The C ty Council urges Ramsey County Board to esta lish a similar program to
support the awarding of c ntracts to economically disadvantaged small b sinesses; and
WHEREAS, Purch ing activity related to the City Hall and Court ouse renovation process is
scheduled to begin in late 1990; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, That he Council of the City of Saint Paul does her y request that the City
Hall and Courthouse Ren vation Committee direct the Saint Paul/Rams y County Joint Purchasing
Office to take steps to se that those economically disadvantaged small b sinesses that have been
targeted for assistance un er the Ramsey County policy are solicited to p rticipate in the biding for
all aspects of the renovati n of the City Hall and Courthouse; and
BE IT FURTHER ESOLVED, That the Joint Purchasing Office hall make best efforts to
see that a minimum of 25 0 of the eligible dollars allocated for the renov tion will be spent with
vendors certified as econo 'cally disadvantaged small businesses by the J int Purchasing Office; and
