WHEEREAS, the Metropolitan Council Environmental Services is offering grants of up to $10,000 to fund
studies to identify sources of inflow and infiltration (I&I) of clean water into the Metropolitan Disposal
System, and
WI�REAS, the Metropolitan Council Environmental Services is offering loans up to $40,000 to fund
projects that reduce this I&I, and
WI�REAS, if a funded project eliminates I&I for a period of five yeazs, the loan is forgiven, and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council Environmental Services is offering this program to all cities served
by the Metropolitan Disposal System on a competitive basis, and
WHEREAS, in 1998, Saint Paul is beginning a Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Program to repair the City's
aging sanitary sewer system and in the process eliminate I&I.
NOW THEREFORE BE TT RESOLVED, by the City of Saint Paul that the City authorizes the Department
of Public Works to apply for one grant and two loans, and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, by the City of Saint Paul that Stacy Becker, Public Works Director, or her
designee be authorized to submit the application and to serve as the contact person
