WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is in the fifth year of a ten year court mandated
sewer separation program to eliminate combined sewer overtlow into the Mississippi
River, and
WHEREAS, there are not sufficient City funds to pay for the program, therefore, the City
of Saint Paul applied to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for a State grant
numbered S 275002-05 and was approved for$4,833,000 in State funding, now
therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul accept the grant offer from the State of
Minnesota in the amount of$4,833,000 to be deposited into Public Works account
number C 90-2T623-3499 to partially finance the construction of separated sewers for
the City of Saint Paul's 1990 Sewer Separation Program, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul authorizes Roy Bredahl,
Manager, Combined Street and Sewer Program, or his alternate, Roger Puchreiter,
Assistant City Engineer, to be the designated representatives to sign all documents
associated with the State grant.
