4 WHEREAS, Childc re workers contribute a valuable service to the residents of the
5 community of St. Pau by providing a safe and nurturing environment for our children;
6 and

8 WHEREAS, the Go ernor of the State of Minnesota has declared Friday,
9 April 6, 1990, as Ch ldcare Worker Day; and
10
11 WHEREAS, the Co ncil of the City of St. Paul recognizes the need to expand
12 society's awareness f the importance of Childcare providers' work with young children;
13 and
14
15 WHEREAS, the Co ncil of the City of St. Paul recognizes the need to improve
16 salaries and working conditions of Childcare givers; and

lg - WHEREAS, the Co ncil of the City of St. Paul has made a commitment to Childcare
19 workers and the chil ren of St. Paul with the Childcare initiative offering a variety of
20 services and program to improve the quality and availability of Childcare; it is
21
22 RESOLVED, that he Council of the City of St. Paul recognizes Childcare workers and
23 their important role in the lives of our children; and
24
25 FURTHER, be it esolved that the Council of the City of St. Paul declares Friday,
26 April 6, 1990, as Ch ldcare Worker Day in the City of St. Paul.
