3 A RESOLUT'ION CONCERNING MINNESOTA
4 STATE LEGISLATION ON OZONE-DEPLETING COMPOUNDS

7 WHEREAS, in the past years, city and state governments have been establishing laws that reduce
8 emissions of the chemicals that could or may destroy the ozone layer; and
9
10 WHEREAS, Saint Paul prefers to see ozone-depleting compound legislated at the federal or state
1.1 level, provided that such legislation effectively addresses the problems;

13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Saint Paul supports State
14 legislation conceming the handling of ozone depleting compounds; and
15
16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of Saint Paul calls upon the Saint Paul
17 Legislative Delegation to publicly support such state legislation; and
18
19 BE IT FLTRTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the City of Saint Paul send a copy of this
20 resolution to each member of the Saint Paul Legislative Delegation at their offices at the State
21 Capital; and
22
23 BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Council of Saint Paul calls upon the Minnesota
24 Congressional Delegation and Minnesota's two United States Senators to work with Minnesota
25 business and federal agencies to make necessary changes in federal regulations and contract
26 requirements to allow for industry to make the conversion to altemate manufacturing processes not
27 requiring the use of CFCs.
