WHEREAS, he city desires to reconstruct THOMAS AVENUE between Fairview
Avenue to Sn Iling Avenue using Municipal State Aid funds; and �
WHEREAS, I accordance with Minnesota Rule 8820.9912, Thomas Avenue between
Fairview Ave ue and Snelling Avenue is classified as a two lane high density
collector; and

WHEREAS, I innesota Rule 8820.9912 requires a 44' street width for a two lane high
density collec or with two side parking and requires a 36' street width for a two lane
high density ollector with one side parking; and
WHEREAS, he proposed width of 38' with two side parking for Thomas Avenue
between Fai iew Avenue and Aldine Avenue and the proposed width of 32' with one
side parking r Thomas Avenue between Aldine Avenue and Snelling Avenue does
not conform t Minnesota Rule 8820.9912; now therefore, be
RESOLVED, hat we do hereby authorize the Director of Public Works to request a
variance from Minnesota Rule 8820.9912 for the width of Thomas Avenue between
Fairview Ave ue and Snelling Avenue.
