WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul performs an important public
service through ownership and operation of several regional
parks, and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council will be seeking legislative
approval for its 1990-91 Regional Parks and Open Space Capital
Improvemen� Program during the 1990 legislative session, and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul will receive significant funding
from the 1990-91 Capital Improvement Program for regional park
improvemen�s;
NOW THEREFqRE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul
supports the Metropolitan Council Capital Improvement Program and
legislativd request for regional park funding, and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul requests that its
CIP entry �i�or acquisition of the Burlington Northern railroad
corridor be changed to also include development, subject to
approval of the joint City-County trail master plan.

The City of St. aul is a part of the Regional Parks system and receives
state funding ac ordingly. The City supports the Metropolitan-Council Capital
Improvement Prog am and legislative request for regional park funding. The
