RESOLUTION CITY OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA '� �, ,� .� Presented By ReEerred To Committee: Date WHEREAS, certain azeas of Saint Paul have been designated as Enterprise Zone azeas for the purpose of targeted Economic and Workforce Development assistance, and WHEREAS, a key to increasing wealth in the Enterprise Zone is stable busine employxnent expansion, and WHEREAS, frequently, residents of the Enterprise Zone have difficulty finding and retaining employment, and WHEREAS, businesses operating in the Enterprise Zone often express concerns over a high employxnent hunover among employees, and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Legislature through the Minnesota Department of Economic Securiry has granted the City of Saint Paui fixnds in the amount of $275,000 to operate a program called the "Enterprise Zone Incentive Grant Program", and WHEREAS, the Enterprise Zone Incentive Grant Program will enable employers and residents of Saint Paul's Enterprise Zone to create stable employment matches by providing incentives and employment retention services under the conditions specified above, and WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 1007.01 of the City Charter, does certify that there are available far appropriation revenues in excess of those estimated in tha 1998 budget, and WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the following changes to the 1998 budget: FINANCING PLAN 345 GOVERNMENTAL EMP & TRNG PROGRAM 36586 Enterprise Zone Incentive Grant State Training Grant Current Amended Budget Changes Budget 305,000 275,000 580.000 305,000 275,000 580,000 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 50 51 52 53 54 55 56 57 58 59 60 61 62 63 64 65 66 67 68 69 70 71 72 73 74 � , , � :: ��t#�1�A�.
