RESOLUTION
SAINT PAUL BOARD OF HEALTH
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Health has federal and state
funds available for select Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services
offered through local Boards of Health, and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Board of Health operating through its
Division of Public Health was awarded an MCH formula grant for the
biennium of 1990-1991, and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Board of Health approves the recommendation
of the Community Health Services Advisory Council to subcontract
$328,431 annually to Health Start, Inc. for prenatal care services
to high risk and low income Saint Paul pregnant women; $31,538
annually to Model Cities Health Center for outreach to minority
pregnant women; $38,274 annually to Face to Face Health and
Counseling Center for outreach to minority pregnant teenagers;
$400,000 annually for Health Start, Inc . to operate school-based
clinics and; $24, 688 annually for the City of Saint Paul ' s indirect
expenses in administering the grant.
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and
directed to execute an Agreement with the Minnesata Department of
Health for $1,645,862 for the biennium of 1990-91.
WHEREBY, the City will receive funding to provide services which
improve pregnancy outcomes in Saint Paul high risk and low income
women and to partially fund four school-based clinics to Saint Paul
teenagers .
