WHEREAS, the Mayor has submitted for the advice and consent
of the Council , his appointment of Jane A. McPeak as City Attorney
of the City of Saint Paul ; and
WHEREAS, Jane A. McPeak has previously been classified as
Deputy City Attorney and an Assistant City Attorney, entitled to
all of the rights provided for by Section 5 .03 of the City Charter,
including, but not limited to tenure ; and
WHEREAS, Jane A. McPeak has served the City as Deputy City
Attorney and an Assistant City Attorney for eleven years and has
requested and has been granted by the Mayor a leave of absence
from her position of Assistant City Attorney VI , Grade G ( 7) or,
in the event of a change in assistant city attorney grades and
classes , as an assistant city attorney of equivalent grade and
class upon termination , however accomplished , of her duties as
City Attorney, and that reassignment shall include full restoration
of rights provided for in Section 5 .03 of the City Charter ; now,
therefore , be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does
hereby consent to and approves the appointment by the Mayor of
Assistant City Attorney Jane A. McPeak as City Attorney, effective
January 2 , 1990 , and upon the termination of her service as City
Attorney and in consideration for her having served as City
Attorney, she be restored to the position of Assistant City
Attorney, as requested, together with restoration of all rights
provided for in Section 5 .03 of the City Charter , including, but
not limited to, tenure .
