INITIATING PROBLEM,ISSUE,OPPOR UNITY(Who,What,When,Where,Why):
Equipment currently used (dosimeter) to measure sound levels is in excess of ten years old
and broken. Parts are not available to repair the machine. The Risk and Employee Benefit
Management Division also needs to purchase various books and data sheets to comply with
federal/state standards on industrial hygiene, toxicology, and chemical disposal.
NTAGES IF APPROVED:
The Risk and Employee Benefit Management Division will have an operating machine to measure
noise levels at various worksites as required by OSHA. The Division will have the required
data sheets and updated ma.terial needed to comply with occupational health regulations.
