, WHEREAS, severe storms in May and June, 1998, destroyed approximately 7,000 trees in the Cify of Saint

a WHEREAS, the 1998 Citywide Tree Ptanting Program does not have sufificient budget to cover the cost of
s replacing the trees lost during the summer storms; and

� WHEREAS, additional funding will allow the Division of Parks and Recreation to begin replacing
a approximately 800 additional trees (@ estimated $250/tree) this coming fall; now

,o THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that $200,000 from prior-year Parks and Recreation project fund
„ balances be transferred to the 1998 Citywide Tree Planting Program; and be it

13 FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and
,a advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that the 1998 Capital Improvement
